Payment Methods :
We will accept personal cheques/bank drafts, International Money Orders and Irish Postal Orders denominated in € Euro. N.B. Euro denominated [personal cheques, bank drafts or International Money Orders must be drawn on a branch of a bank located in Ireland and be acceptable for clearance through the Irish cheque clearing system.
All Cheques etc. should be made payable to "The Civil Registration Service”.
CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS.
We will accept credit card payments in the following manner:
In person at our public counters on the 1st floor of our office in Government Offices, Convent Road .
By post to General Register Office, Government Offices, Convent Road, Roscommon.
By fax @ 090 6632999.
We will accept Mastercard and Visa credit cards.
It should be noted that applications where payment is by credit card will not be expedited or treated any differently from applications using other payment methods.
New application forms (which contain a provision for the inclusion of credit card details) for Birth/Death/Marriage Certificates, designed for our ongoing computerisation/modernisation programme will be posted on the Apply for a Cert page of this website
These forms can be downloaded and then submitted to this office by post or fax.
If you have difficulty downloading the forms simply write or type the relevant information on a sheet of A4 size paper and post or fax it to us.

CREDIT CARD DETAILS SENT BY POST OR FAX ARE SENT AT THE CARDHOLDERS OWN RISK AND THE GENERAL REGISTER OFFICE CANNOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY LOSSES OR DAMAGES INCURRED BY THE LOSS OR INTERCEPTION BY THIRD PARTIES OF SAID DETAILS
